Muslim American Society (MAS Charlotte)

MAS Charlotte is one of the 40 chapters of the Muslim American Society. Chapters based in cities throughout the country work on the same mission and vision — to move people to strive for God-consciousness, liberty and justice, and to convey Islam with the utmost clarity — in pursuit of a just and virtuous American society. The page adds: "With this increased knowledge and spirituality, many of our members race to action by providing needed services to the underprivileged, activities for our younger generation – the youth, and outreach programs to raise awareness of who the Muslims are and what they truly represent."

Islamic Relief

The page gives Islamic Relief USA's mission (above), vision ("Working together for a world free of poverty") and values ("These traits express the belief and define the culture of the organization. We remain guided by the timeless values and teachings provided by the revelations contained within the Qur'an and prophetic example"). It describes IRUSA as "a community of humanitarians–staff, volunteers, affiliates, supporters, partners, donors–who have been working together for a better world for nearly 25 years." In 1993 Islamic Relief USA became an independent (and legally separate) member of a global family of collaborating relief organizations sharing a common vision, mission and family identity, connected through use of the "Islamic Relief" name. IRUSA operates seven US regional offices — northern California, southern California, Illinois, Florida, New Jersey, Texas and Virginia (headquarters) — which educate, inform and raise awareness about its relief and development projects, and it holds seminars, banquets, concerts and other public awareness programs across the country to help fund domestic and international projects.

Baitul Hemayah

The page adds that services "will not be circumscribed to Muslims alone because many of these same problems affect the larger non-Muslim community as well." On philosophy: "Baitul Hemayah, Inc.'s philosophy relies on incorporating our cultural affinities, our capabilities, and the most empowering practices from both Qu'ran and Sunnah. Intellicor International Academy

Mission (site wording): "Intellicor International Academy works on providing a safe and motivational environment for students to learn and grow to their maximum potential and to become good, practicing Muslims who recognize current realities and understand future challenges of their local, national, and human community so they ably serve." The page describes two pillars. Heart-Mind Interaction: "Scientific evidence indicates that the heart and mind are linked by neural fibers. Some consider the heart the 'Little Brain' based on the effects of the heart on the mind. According to Islamic teachings, the heart holds a person's core beliefs that ultimately guide the brain's processes, especially comprehension." Neuroeducation: understanding how the mind processes information is critical to effective teaching; teachers undergo a series of workshops, and new techniques are used to help teachers convey knowledge while allowing students to better retain what is taught.
